Te got left out and you still don’t know it

At the end of February 2026 something unusual happened in the financial markets.

A small research firm published an essay on Substack. It was not an official report, nor a document from the IMF, nor a formal economic forecast. It was a speculative text written as if we were in the year 2028 looking back to understand how a crisis caused by artificial intelligence had begun.

In less than 48 hours, the Nasdaq fell more than 1%. Several technology companies lost between 4% and 10% of their market value. And the White House had to publicly deny the scenario.

That text is now known as the Citrini Report.

 Productivity is often explained through methods, planners, or applications. However, behind the motivation to start and finish tasks there is a much deeper mechanism: the neurobiology of the brain. One of the central elements of this system is dopamine, a neurotransmitter that plays a key role in motivation, learning, and decision-making.

Artificial intelligence is transforming work at a speed that few people imagined just a few years ago. Today it is possible to write texts, generate reports, analyze data, program code, or design presentations in minutes thanks to AI tools accessible to any professional.  For entrepreneurs, students, and knowledge workers, this represents a huge productivity improvement. Tasks that once took hours can now be completed in minutes. However, behind this silent revolution a less visible phenomenon is emerging: the possible erosion of cognitive skills.

Creating a professional presentation remains one of the most time-consuming tasks for entrepreneurs, students, and professionals. It doesn’t matter whether you use PowerPoint, Google Slides, or Keynote: structuring ideas, designing slides, choosing fonts, organizing content, and maintaining visual consistency can take hours. And often, the real problem isn’t design… it’s getting started.

For decades, marketing was structured around a relatively stable logic: those who achieved greater visibility gained greater recall, and those who achieved greater recall gained greater market share. The equation was simple: reach, impact, and conversion. However, that strategic architecture stopped functioning the way companies once understood it. It did not disappear, but it was replaced by a variable far scarcer than advertising budgets, technology, or even human talent: human attention.
